Adoring Alannah Hill

In my 30s, Alannah Hill was not just a designer but a source of creative inspiration, femininity and vintage-inspired glamour. Now, as I reflect on those years in my 50s, I can't help but reminisce about the enchantment her designs brought into my life.

Stepping into Alannah Hill's boutiques was like entering a whimsical wonderland. The air was filled with a sense of elegance and timeless glamour. The sales assistants were a beauty to behold dressed in Alannah's creations, and their service was attentive and warm. Racks were adorned with beautiful creations, and the floaty silk dresses seemed to dance with every movement. Alannah's accessories added a touch of mystery and sophistication, from red cloche hats to ribbon tie cameos, while her shoes boasted drama and personality. Her exquisite accessories were scattered throughout the store, ready to complete any outfit and make a statement.

One of Alannah Hill's signature garments that captured my heart were the gorgeous cardigans. They were more than just cardigans; they were treasures to be cherished in soft pastels, bold colours and patterns, often with delicate embellishments and always exuding a sense of vintage charm.

In 2013, Alannah Hill departed from her eponymous brand, and the magic seemed to fade with her absence. I learned recently that Alannah Hill, the brand, is also closing. 

However, the fashion world was not left devoid of Alannah Hill's enchanting creations. Her current label, Louise Loves, launched in 2014. While the offerings may be pared down, Louise Loves still carries the same beauty and allure that made Alannah's designs so captivating. Her designs continue to exude femininity, elegance, and a touch of drama, capturing the essence of what made her creations so unforgettable. And her photo shoots and styling are still creations to behold!

Alannah Hill's designs were more than just clothes: they are a celebration of femininity and glamour. And though the years have passed, my love for Alannah Hill's creations remains.
