Meet Jane

Whether it’s forging new friendships, celebrating with loved ones, or catching up over a pot of tea (it’s where the best conversations are had) — it's about taking the time to slow down and appreciate the beauty and human connection that is all around. This is what you will find at the heart of my philosophy and vision for Tea in the Garden.

Just like our homes and gardens can define who we are, so too does our sense of fashion.

While it can seem immaterial in the grand scheme of things, the right fashion choice, in the right moment, can make or break an occasion.

Tea in the Garden is here to help you feel good. Here so you have one less thing to worry about. To cheer you on, so you can spend your precious time making memories, not frantically looking for something to wear. Here to see you shine, whatever the occasion.

I can’t wait to work with you for your next event.

Tea Stories

Drinking brewed tea has been intrinsic to my life. My family’s dairy farming background meant early morning starts with a cup of tea has been a part of my daily routine since I was old enough to hold a teacup.

The ritual of tea drinking is a great comfort to me, especially at home and in the garden. Knowing that the kettle is on. Giving the leaves time to brew. Pouring its warm, aromatic goodness into a favourite teacup — this is my happy place. A chance to rest or catch up. Like a reliable friend.

Part of my vision for creating Tea in the Garden is to learn and share more about tea and its comforts with you. To be able to combine this with my love of fashion is my dream come true!

Tea Notes

You may notice in Tea in the Garden's garment descriptions a section called Tea Notes. My inspiration for writing Tea Notes stems from the delightful combination of fashion and tea, two aspects that intertwine beautifully through Tea in the Garden. My love of exploring and sampling the black tea blends and fusion teas at The Tea Centre in Townsville sparked my creativity. As I wrote the descriptions for each piece in Tea in the Garden's main collection, I couldn't help but envision the ideal loose leaf tea to complement the unique charm of every dress or outfit. Through Tea Notes, I hope to share my enthusiasm and recommendations, showcasing the harmonious relationship between fashion and tea.

We are so fortunate to have such a lovely tea shop in Townsville with The Tea Centre, where I've been a frequent shopper for years. However, whether it's The Tea Centre or you have another cherished tea shop (or you are yet to explore and discover your own favourite tea spots) I sincerely hope that my recommendations resonate with you, and that you find joy in discovering the perfect tea to complement your lovely dress or outfit.

So, enjoy the journey as we explore the delightful world where loose leaf tea becomes a fashion muse. A celebration of the unexpected, as fashion and tea blend harmoniously to create an enchanting experience.
